Suspension of Kiln as CF Constituent Staking Provider for CF ETH Staking Reward Rate Index (ETH_SRR) and related indices

The Administrator announces the suspension of Kiln as a CF Constituent Staking Provider for the CF Staking Series – CF ETH Staking Reward Rate Index (ETH_SRR) and related indices, effective September 11th, 2025,

Kiln’s API was unavailable on September 9th and September 10th, resulting in its rates being absent from ETH_SRR index calculations for those dates.

The impacted CF ETH Staking indices are as follows:

  • CF ETH Staking Reward Rate
  • CF ETH Staked Return Index
  • CF ETH Staked Return Index – Compounded
  • CF ETH Staked Return Index - Compounded - New York Variant
  • CF ETH Staked Return Index Blends (90/10)
  • CF ETH Staked Return Index Blends (80/20)
  • CF ETH Staked Return Index Blends (70/30)
  • CF ETH Staked Return Index Blends (60/40)
  • CF ETH Staked Return Index Blends (50/50)

Rationale

On September 8, 2025, Kiln reported a vulnerability incident. As part of its response, Kiln initiated the orderly exit of all of its Ethereum validators. Given the uncertainty over when the incident will be resolved, and the risk of inaccurate data being reflected in the ETH Staking Reward Rate, the Administrator has determined that it is appropriate to suspend Kiln’s participation as a Constituent Staking Provider.

This suspension is indefinite and will remain in place until further notice.

Implementation Date

The suspension will take effect at approximately 11:00 am London Time on September 11th, 2025. The process has been conducted under the supervision of the CF Cryptocurrency Index Family Oversight Function.
